The Product Engineer – Avionics & Instruments operates at the intersection of electronics, avionics, test engineering and workshop support. Day-to-day activities combine hands-on validation with structured engineering work aimed at making repair and test processes more reliable and repeatable.
Typical responsibilities include:
- Designing, building and validating test rigs, test benches and measurement setups for avionics and electronic components.
- Writing, improving and releasing repair procedures and technical work instructions tailored for shopfloor use.
- Analyzing faults, measurement data and reliability information to find root causes and practical improvements.
- Supporting technicians during complex repairs and fault diagnoses on the shopfloor; translating findings into lasting fixes.
- Specifying or modifying tooling, test jigs and workshop equipment to enable new repair capabilities.
- Coordinating with product owners, certification engineers and other technical specialists when new capabilities are introduced or updated.

Wat wij zoeken
This helps you to quickly find your way in the role:
- A technical degree in electrical engineering, electronics, avionics or a related field (BSc/MSc or equivalent).
- Practical experience with electronics, test equipment or measurement setups and an interest in fault analysis and troubleshooting.
- Ability to read and produce technical documentation in English for both engineering and shopfloor audiences.
- Familiarity with scripting or programming (Python, C++ or similar) is a useful addition for test automation and data analysis.
- Knowledge of avionics systems or prior experience in aerospace/MRO helps to connect quickly to the daily practice of the workshop.

In practice this fulltime role (40 hours) is based in Hoofddorp and combines technical office work with presence in the workshop. Hybrid working and flexible hours are possible where they fit with testing, validation and shopfloor alignment. The employment conditions are aligned with experience and qualifications.
