As an Electrical Technician — Metro Overhaul based in Rotterdam, you work daily on renewing and reinstalling electrical systems in self-driving Copenhagen metro trains. The role focuses on stripping existing installations, cabling and assembling distribution and control cabinets, lighting, public address and safety systems in a modern workshop. As an Electrical Technician — Metro Overhaul you carry out hands-on revision and full reinstallation of electrical systems in self-driving metro trains from Copenhagen, operating from a modern workshop in Rotterdam. The vehicles are stripped and rebuilt so they remain safe and reliable for years to come. The daily reality is practical and technical: work is execution-focused, task-oriented and performed according to safety and quality procedures.
Typical day-to-day activities include:
- Removing existing electrical installations and components from metro cars.
- Installing and replacing lighting, public address systems, fire detection and train safety components.
- Laying and terminating cabling; assembling and mounting distribution and control cabinets, displays and panels.
- Performing assembly and connection work, testing circuits and supporting commissioning activities.
- Documenting completed work and preparing handover/acceptance reports.
- Collaborating with specialists from different technical disciplines within the overhaul project.

Wat wij zoeken

- A technical qualification at MBO level 3 or 4 in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, Automotive or a similar direction is useful.
- Experience with electrical installations, cabling and panel assembly; mid-level experience helps to work more independently sooner.
- VCA-VOL and forklift certificate, or willingness to obtain these; experience with aerial work platforms is a plus.
- Basic English to communicate within an international team, plus accuracy, technical insight and the ability to read wiring diagrams and technical documentation.

- Salary indication: €2.860 – €4.238 gross per month, depending on experience and role responsibilities.
- 38 leave days in total (25 vacation days + 13 ADV) and a travel allowance for commuting.
